Course Overview
Master the art of flying solely by reference to instruments. The Instrument Rating (IR) is arguably the most valuable certification a pilot can earn, transforming you from a day-time, clear-weather pilot into a truly capable aviator who can safely navigate through clouds, low visibility, and at night.
This program at Airsa Academy focuses on precision, situational awareness, and advanced decision-making. Our instructors will train you in our state-of-the-art simulators and aircraft to ensure you are confident and competent in Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) conditions.
IFR Procedures
Learn precision instrument approaches, holding patterns, and departure/arrival procedures.
Advanced Navigation
Utilize VOR, DME, GPS, and other navigation systems to fly complex routes without visual references.
“Actual” Instrument Flying
<p>Gain confidence flying in real or simulated Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).</p>
ATC Communication
Master the specific language and procedures for communicating with Air Traffic Control in the IFR system.
Prerequisites
To begin your Instrument Rating training, you must meet the following requirements:
- Valid Private Pilot License (PPL) or higher.
- Valid Class 1 or Class 2 Medical Certificate.
- At least 50 hours of cross-country flight time as pilot-in-command (PIC).
- English Language Proficiency (ICAO Level 4).
